🌞🌞Summer Sizzzzlerrr 🌞🌞 Sunday 12th July 2026

What: Being held on Sunday 12th July 2026 by Viva Gymnastics Club and Meon Valley Gymnastics Club, the "Summer Sizzler Competition" at Hilsea is open to all gymnasts, regardless of age or ability. All you need is an active membership plan and an excited gymnast!

When: Each gymnast will participate in a roughly 2-hour round that will run between 9am to 6pm. The timing of your gymnast's 2-hour round will be decided once ticket sales have ended (ticket sales will end 2 weeks before the event and you will be notified shortly afterwards by email).

Where: Viva Gymnastics Club, Unit 8D Skill Centre, Limberline Spur, Hilsea, PO3 5LF

Cost: £20 per participating gymnast (includes 2 free spectator tickets per gymnast). (For comparison, British Gymnastics charges up to £40 per gymnast with 1 free spectator then £5 per spectator. Please also note that Viva Gymnastics coaches, helpers and judges are volunteers who take no payment for the time they donate to running Comps.)

Spectators: Please note that seating is limited and priority will be given to people with mobility concerns. If you have an issue that limits your mobility, please message us via Chat so that we can try to make accommodations.

Parking: There is limited dedicated Viva Gymnastics Club parking, however on a Sunday the Skill Centre should be reasonably quiet. There are also alternative parking options within walking distance nearby. Viva Gymnastics Club takes no liability for charges incurred when parking outside of Viva Gymnastics Club designated parking bays.

Our Competitions are structured like all British Gymnastics competitions, working the same skills and routines, with 1-2 hour gymnasts competing on 2 pieces (floor and vault) and our squad gymnasts competing on all 4 pieces (floor, bars, beam, vault and we may include range to make it 5 pieces). Gymnasts compete against each other, however we ensure fairness with our rounds,

The competition is aimed at those wishing to progress and showcase their routine. Participating gymnasts may already train in our squads, may aspire to follow our squad route, or may simply wish to showcase the skills and routines they have been learning.

If it’s your gymnast’s first ever competition, please don’t worry - it’s a starting point, and everyone starts somewhere! We will be celebrating your first ever routine with you :) Floor routines for new competitors will be completed without the addition or music so that they can focus more on their skills.

Our squad members are expected to participate in our Competitions, as this is the measure of their achievements.

Our 1-2 hours gymnasts will be competing alongside each other to ensure fairness. We will also try and keep children within their own age ranges.

We will be determining groups once we have final participant numbers.

Our squad members will be competing against each other following their individual pathway recommendations.

As we have many new members joining, we will be making reasonable adjustments to ensure all gymnasts compete at their current level.

Our competitions are designed to promote inclusivity and positivity among our gymnasts as well as giving families a chance to watch their fantastic children in action.
